Yvonne M. Toutant

Yvonne M. Toutant, 87, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Essentia Health, Fargo.

Yvonne Mary Olson was born February 13, 1939, the oldest of five children, to Olaf and Mary (Johnson) Olson. Her family lived in Lake Park and Detroit Lakes, MN, before moving to Moorhead, MN where she was raised. Yvonne attended St. Joseph’s School until the eighth grade and then graduated from Moorhead High School in 1957. During her high school years, Yvonne worked at the Ben Franklin Five & Dime Store and after graduation she began her secretarial career at Transport Inc. for three years.

On April 8, 1961, Yvonne was united in marriage to Raynald “Ray” Toutant at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moorhead. They first lived in Enid, OK, where Ray was stationed while serving in the Air Force and Yvonne worked as a secretary at the local YMCA. In 1963, Yvonne and Ray moved to Fargo, where they established their home and raised their three daughters, Cindy, Shari and Annette. Yvonne spent twenty-one years working as a secretary at Ben Franklin Junior High School until she retired.

Yvonne and Ray had a trailer home on Bijou Lake, near Lake Park, MN where spent their summers making many memories with their children and company that would visit. While at the lake, she enjoyed fishing and even tried water skiing.

In her leisure time she enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, listening to old-time country music, playing miniature golf and playing cards.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Cindy (Terry) Stock, Rapid City, SD, Shari Akay, Olympia, WA, and Annette Toutant, Little Canada, MN; grandchildren, Shannon (Jeff) Beauchamp, Jessica Stock and Christopher (Narine Mayi) Stock; great-grandchild, Lexi Beauchamp; sister, Loretta LeSage, Ponsford, MN; sisters-in-law, Sandy Olson, Barnesville, MN and Aleta Cacanindin, Ajax, Ontario; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; brothers, Donald Olson, Robert Olson and Ronald Olson; and her beloved dog and companion, Teddy.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Yvonne will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00 AM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN. She will be laid to rest in Holy Cross North Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
