Warren D. Kluever

Warren D. Kluever, 94, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Warren Donald Kluever was born November 23, 1928, at his family farm near Grand Rapids, ND, to Otto and Tillie (Schlenker) Kluever.

As a young man, he enlisted with the United States Army in September of 1948.   Warren proudly served his country overseas in Okinawa, Japan.  He was honorably discharged in June of 1952.   In 1955, he moved to Moorhead and started working for Rigel’s Refrigeration.  He furthered his education by attending North Dakota State School of Science (NDSCS), earning his Refrigeration degree.  He later attended Moorhead Area Vo-Tech, where he received his Electrical certificate.  He owned and operated Warren’s Refrigeration from 1968-1989. 

On November 14, 1986, Warren was united in marriage to his soulmate, Naomi Granlund in Mesa, AZ.  

Warren is survived by his loving wife, Naomi; his five children: daughters, Debra (Wayne) Lantz, Michele Kluever and Patricia Kluever; sons, Donald Kluever and Dana Kluever; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Johnson; one brother, Gary Kluever; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Kluever, Julie Hull, and Edna (Bob) Wentland. He is also survived by his two cats, “Zippy” and “Smokey.”  

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; infant brother, Wallace; sister, June; brother, Ray; brothers-in-law, Ivan Becker, Gene Johnson, Eric Granlund; and sister-in-law, Connie Kluever; niece, Polly Johnson; and parents-in-law, Norman and Sylvia.

A Memorial Service for Warren will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 2pm in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service of Moorhead.  Visitation will be one hour prior.  Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
