Wanda Adams

September 20, 1931 — July 28, 2021

Wanda Virginia Adams Eaton, age 89, passed away peacefully, Tuesday July 28, 2021 at Rosewood on Broadway Nursing Home in Fargo, ND.

Born at the family home in Bonaparte, IA September 20, 1931 to the late James and Mary Troutman, Wanda was the sixth of seven children.
Wanda always had a zest for life and a gift to gab. She graduated from Farmington Public School in 1949, with the nickname "Windy Wanda." Popular with her classmates, she was a cheerleader and played saxophone in the school band.

Following in her family's entrepreneurial footsteps, Wanda owned and operated many successful businesses including a record store, bait and tackle shop and popular tavern fondly called "The End." Wanda drew great joy from helping others. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, holding her membership in Marco Island, FL. She was an active member of the Eagles, Elks, American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. An avid bowling enthusiast, she loved league bowling with the Burlington Woman's Bowling Association. And in later years, a Wii bowling star at Bickford Cottage in Burlington, IA., and Bean Bag Champ at Good Samaritan Assisted Living, Fargo, ND.

Wanda loved her family and her friends. She delighted in celebrating special days and details in the lives of many, always sending a card, phone call, flowers and most importantly a "Thank You". She loved fashion, especially shoes and purses. And made the best homemade ice cream and fudge, which must be served with a huge bowl of buttered popcorn. Most of all, Wanda loved to dance. Her optimistic smile; infectious. She lit up the room, and now gracefully lights up the sky.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Eaton, who was by her side when she passed; a sister, Mary Davis, Saint. Michael, MN; three daughters: Dixie (Ed) Wilkerson, Danville, IA, Debra (Tom) Smithson, Fargo, ND and Dawn (Scott) Donaldson Warrenton, VA; nine grandchildren, Zackary and Kasey Rider, Tara Wilkerson Thuleen, Tori Wilkerson Frazier, Hannah Smithson Taylor, Rebekah Smithson Nelson, Sarah Smithson, and Adam and Tate Donaldson; and eleven great-grand Children, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Rider; twin grandchildren, Dustin Paul and Danielle Elizabeth Rider, three brothers, Edgar, Elmer and Joe Troutman; two sisters, Pauline Steeples and Esther Lamborn; her first husband Edmond "Sonny" Rider; and husband, Norman Adams.
