Violet E. Nelson, 104, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, May 4, 2020 in Villa Maria, Fargo.
Violet was born December 11, 1915 in Hawley, MN to Carl and Mary (Peterson) Anderson. She was raised and attended school in Hawley.
On November 6th, 1943, Violet was united in marriage to Edward Nelson in Lake Park, MN. Their first home was in Biloxi, MS, as Ed served our country during WWII. During Violet's working career, she was employed at the VA Hospital in Fargo. Violet and Ed also owned and operated Park Cabins Resort in Detroit Lakes. She spent the last 13 years of her career at Concordia College in Moorhead before retiring.
Violet enjoyed spending time with her sisters and extended family. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, crochet work, and was a wonderful baker.
Violet is survived by her two sisters, Lila Anderson of Lake Park, MN and Fern Softing of Fargo, ND, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Nelson; two sisters, Bessie and Mabel and one brother, Albert.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
