Todd S. Askelson

Todd Steven Askelson, born on May 28, 1961, in Detroit Lakes, MN, to Harold Sr. and Shirley (Glover) Askelson, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 64. Todd was the youngest of four siblings, and his early education began in Buffalo, ND, before transitioning to Perham, MN, where he graduated from Perham High School. He furthered his education at Moorhead Technical College, specializing in HVAC, and at Alexandria Technical and Community College, focusing on Electrical and Commercial Refrigeration.

On July 3, 1993, Todd found love with Brenda Fiedler, embracing not only her heart but also the joys of family by welcoming her four children: Brandon, Tiffany, April, and Ashley. The couple made their home in Fargo, ND, from 1993 to 1999, where Todd held positions at Grants Mechanical and Cass County Heating. In 2000, they relocated to Perham, which became their permanent residence. Todd worked at Laney’s from 2000 to 2009 before establishing his own business, Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning, while running his business he also worked at Tweeton Refrigeration and Heating until his passing.

Todd had a zest for life that included fishing, hunting, participating in pool leagues, riding his Harley, and cherishing moments spent with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion Brenda Fiedler and their four children, Brandon Fiedler, Hoffman, MN, Tiffany Burge Fiedler, Dent, MN, April Klein Fiedler, Perham, and Ashley Fiedler, Dent; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Geri) Askelson, and Roger Askelson, both of Detroit Lakes; his sister, Alice McDonald, Detroit Lakes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Sr. and Shirley Askelson; his niece, Sheila Kasowski Lindseth; and sister-in-law, Rita Doll Askelson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12PM in St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Perham, MN. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior. Interment will be in St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Perham.
