Thomas John Olson

Thomas "Tom" Olson, 77, of Crouseville, ME, passed away unexpectedly in Fargo, ND, at Sanford Health on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Tom worked at SAD #45 in Washburn, ME, for 42 1/2 years as a bus driver/custodian. Tom could be heard whistling or singing (very off key) while he worked or offering up a colorful joke to fellow employees. He retired in 2010, to spend time with his devoted and loving wife, touring casinos, hunting and fishing and working on puzzles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Ann Olson of Crouseville; daughters, Shannon (Dan) Olson of Fargo and Shelly Gresham of Pittston, ME; three adored grandchildren, Cory Olson (Sarah Dolyniuk - fiancee) of Fargo, Brandon Gresham of Pittston and RaeAnn (Dawson) Sperr of Fargo. He also leaves behind five siblings, Dale Olson (Diane) of Anchorage, AK, Sheila (David) Bishop of Presque Isle, ME, Mark Olson (Penny Ellis - fiancee) of Washburn, Sherrie (Mark) Carmichael of Mapleton, ME and Scott (Jennifer) Olson of Crouseville; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Diana Adamson of Caribou, ME; two brothers-in-law, David and Donny DeMechant both of Caribou; and two aunts and many cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Gilbert Olson and Marie Cecile Olson.

Mockler Funeral Home in Caribou, ME, will be assisting with a graveside service. This will be held at 1:00 pm at the Crouseville Cemetery on August 31, 2025.
