Theodora "Teddy" McDonough, 66, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at 2:45 AM in the Intensive Care Unit of Innovis Health, Fargo, ND, of complications arising from a long bout with emphysema.
Teddy was born September 6, 1937, in Niagara Falls, NY. She was the only daughter of Fred and Muriel Hellwig. She attended Niagara Falls High School and the Carnegie Institute of Nursing, Cleveland, OH. She worked as a medical technician for Olin Matheson Chemical Corporation, Niagara Falls. On June 6, 1959, Teddy married John McDonough, a long-time Fargo-Moorhead resident, who had just been discharged from the Army. They were married in Niagara Falls, and came to Fargo on their honeymoon, eventually taking up residence in south Moorhead.
Teddy worked as a receptionist for St. John's Hospital and was a valuable assistant to her husband in his many enterprises. She will be fondly remembered as a compassionate and loving wife and mother. She will be deeply missed and mourned by her husband, children and by her many friends from all over the country.
Teddy is survived by her husband; three children, Wendy (Richard) Hutchings, Reno, NV, John Jr. (Julia), Fargo, and Christopher, Moorhead.
Teddy has donated her body to the University of North Dakota Medical School, Grand Forks, ND.
