Susan Denise Julsrud

November 27, 1966 — February 18, 2026

Barnesville

Born on November 27, 1966, in the welcoming embrace of Grand Forks, ND, Susan Denise Wright, affectionately known as Susie, wove a tapestry of love and warmth as the youngest sibling in the Wright family. As she gallantly navigated her formative years, she left behind a legacy filled with laughter and cherished memories, graduating from Central High School in 1985.

Life took Susan on a journey of growth and discovery, where she pursued higher education while savoring the joys of life. In 1998, she found companionship in Craig Cull, and together they crafted moments in Grand Forks until their paths diverged in 2007. Fueled by determination and an unwavering spirit, Susan would go on to earn her master's degree in social work from the University of North Dakota, a testament to her enduring commitment.

A spirited soul, Susan spent many heartwarming hours serving as a waitress at Grama Butterwick’s Restaurant, where relationships blossomed and laughter echoed. It was there she met Larry Julsrud, a regular who would later become her loving husband on December 5, 2008. Together, they cultivated a beautiful life before moving to Larry’s hometown of Barnesville, MN, in 2010, where Susan continued to share her gifts as a waitress at the Eagle Café and later as a clerk at Barnesville Drug and Hardware.

Susan’s vibrant spirit was evident in her many cherished hobbies. She found joy in crocheting, exploring the world of reading, and engaging in crafts. Her kitchen was a treasure trove of delicious creations, where she experimented with new recipes, delighting in the thrill of culinary mastery. When it came to entertainment, she had a penchant for diving into captivating TV series, embracing the stories that unfolded before her.

She is survived by her husband Larry Julsrud, of Barnesville, MN, two sons: James Miller of Bismarck, ND, and Josh Wright of Barnesville; her father Paul Wright of Grand Forks, ND; four siblings: Beth Weiss of Bismarck, ND, MaryKay Wright of Minneapolis, MN, Margie Knutson of Mayville, ND, and Andrew (Lynnae) Wright of Eden Prairie, MN, two step children: Steven (Elizabeth Butler) Julsrud of Maple Grove, MN, and Sara (Wesley) Holtman of Chisago City, MN; grandchildren: Marty Holtman and Owen Julsrud; and in laws: Tom (Annetta) Julsrud of Moorhead, Ted Julsrud of Barnesville, Marilyn Little of Spring Lake Park, MN, Lynn Julsrud of Barnesville, and Dean (Wanda) Julsrud of Barnesville, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
