Steven L. Jarvis

Steven L. Jarvis, 65, Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Steven Lynn Jarvis was born March 26, 1961, in Bend, Oregon, to Donald and Joanne (Tefft) Jarvis. During his early years, his family lived in New York and in Davisburg, Michigan, where he attended school.

In 1977, Steven enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. As a paratrooper, he completed 39 jumps. His service also took him to Korea, where he worked along the border for three years. He was honorably discharged in 1980.

Following his military service, Steven dedicated many years to working alongside local farmers, assisting with dairy operations and livestock care. Later in life, he earned his associate degree and went on to work as a robotics technician for Bobcat until his retirement.

Steven had a passion for travel and adventure. Fondly referred to by his wife, Vickie, as a “rolling stone,” he journeyed to 37 states and 13 countries. He also enjoyed woodworking, crafting unique windmill lumberjacks, and was a creative writer who loved reading. Above all, Steven cherished the time he spent with Vickie and his family. Steven generously chose to donate his organs at the end of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie; children, Jessica and Daryl; stepchildren, Carmen, Suzanne, Rodney Jr., and Shane; siblings, Russell and Diana; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, David, and his parents.
