Ryan M. Johnk

Ryan Matthew Johnk, 37, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, November 1, 2020, following an 18 month fight with colon cancer.
Ryan was born on April 10, 1983, to Bob and Lynn (Philaya) Johnk in Moorhead. He grew up a Moorhead Spud and graduated in 2001. He attended Concordia College for a year before transferring to Concordia University in Seward, NE, graduating with a degree in Psychology in 2005.
Ryan married Theresa Karels on May 20, 2005. They made their home in Eden Prairie, MN, until moving to Moorhead, in 2018. His proudest accomplishment was being a father to their children, Chloe and Hayden. He worked in the social services field for many years before focusing on Information Technology at his father's business, Tricorne Audio, in Fargo, ND.
The things that brought Ryan the most joy were going to the family cabin on Lake Lizzie and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed listening to podcasts and building Legos with his children. He had a passion for Star Wars and loved the music of John Williams. He will be remembered for his amazing writing ability, sense of humor and strong faith in Jesus.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Chloe and Hayden; parents, Lynn and Bob; siblings, Josh (Shayla) and Kelsey (Caleb); ten nieces and nephews and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Service for Ryan will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 2pm in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN. Visitation will be held two hours prior. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin.
