Ronald E. Hiller, 84, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Perley, MN, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Ronald Elmer Hiller was born May 26, 1941, the son of Elmer and Lillian (Ellingson) Hiller in Fargo, ND. He was raised on a farm east of Perley receiving his early education in country schools and Borup and went on to graduate from the Agricultural School in Crookston, MN. Following his education, Ron proudly serviced the U.S. Air Force and served from 1960 to 1963.

After completing his military service, Ron returned home, working for local farmers and Regal Appliances in Moorhead. In 1966, Ron began a long and dedicated career with the Air Guard as an HVAC Technician. On June 10, 1969, Ron was united in marriage to Linda Herringer at Green Meadow Lutheran Church in rural Ada, MN, and together they established their home in Perley.

Ron continued working as an HVAC Tech for the Air National Guard and as a civilian until his retirement in 2008 after over forty years of dedicated service. In 1993, Ron retired from the Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant. In later years, Ron and Linda moved to Moorhead and for the last year he resided at Eventide on Eighth.

Ron was a member of the Simonson-Betcher American Legion Post #26 in Ada for forty-five years and the Ada VFW Drill Team, marching in many parades throughout the years. He also served with the Perley Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-two years. Ron and Linda also enjoyed their daily outings to The Schack in north Fargo for brunch.

Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Linda; brother, Larry (Kristy) Hiller, Morrison, CO; sisters, Susan Anderson, Fargo, ND, Sheree (Mike) Breckel, McIntosh, MN, and Shelly Anderson, Minneapolis, MN; uncle, Howard Ellingson, Lake Park, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marlowe; and nephew, Christopher Breckel.

A Visitation for Ronald will begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 9:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the Bottolfson Chapel at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead. He will be laid to rest in Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND.
