Ronald "Ron" F. Dunn

Ronald “Ron” F. Dunn, 71, of Horace, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in Sanford Health – West Campus, Fargo, ND.

Ronald Francis Rhyan Dunn was born November 24, 1954, the son of Regina Dunn, in Dickey County, ND. He was raised in south central North Dakota before honorably serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon being discharged from the Marines, Ron returned to North Dakota, eventually settling in Fargo. Ron attended North Dakota State University and later pursued a career as a truck driver.

In 1983 he met his life partner and soulmate, Vivian Mielke. The couple resided in Fargo until 1986 when they built their house in Horace, ND and established their home. Ron continued his professional career driving truck working with Wanzek Construction, Patio World and later for Dirt Dynamics.

In his leisure time, Ron has a passion for electronics and computers. Together with Vivian, they took great pleasure landscaping their backyard and spent countless hours enjoying the fruits of their labor. Ron cherished family gatherings and he and Vivian hosted gatherings of family and close neighbors for celebrations and playing cards. Ron's angel, Vivian, passed away on November 6, 2025.

He is survived by his mother, Regina “Jean” Coleman, Oakes, ND; siblings, Barbara Johnson, West Fargo, ND, Denise (Tim) Adair, Oakes, ND, and Glen (Lisa) Coleman, Felton, MN; nieces, Dawn Lubka and June Coleman; nephew, Manny (Aurora) Lubka; sisters-in-law, Beverly Bell, Rockford, IL and Kathy Byers, Moorhead, MN; and brother-in-law, Raymond Mielke, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian; stepfather, Gerald Coleman, and brother-in-law, Scott “Bill” Johnson

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Ron will begin at 12:00 PM, Monday, February 16, 2026, followed by a Celebration of His Life at 1:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service. Moorhead, MN.
