Roger F. Buscher

Roger F. Buscher, 89, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Lilac Homes, Dilworth, MN.

Roger was born on February 23, 1937, in Breckenridge, MN to Mary (Laible) and Mark Buscher. He graduated from High School in 1955 and then attended college at St. John's University in MN graduating in 1959. After graduation Roger joined the U.S. Navy spending quite a bit of time in a submarine in Scotland.

In 1964 Roger married Judy Berquam in Moorhead at St. Joseph's Church and from this marriage two children were born, Peter in 1966 and Allison in 1973. Roger spent his career as an insurance adjuster for GAB Business services. With this position came quite a bit of travel and time away from home.

In his spare time Roger was a very active member of St. Joseph's parish, the Moorhead Knights of Columbus and also enjoyed being on several committees for the city of Moorhead.

Roger also devoted much of his time to the Boy Scouts of America. Him being an Eagle Scout and watching his son follow the same path to Eagle Scout solidified Roger's willingness to volunteer. Every summer after his retirement he would spend a minimum of one week per summer working at Camp Wilderness where he made time to help young scouts work on merit badges.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Allison (Wayne) Miller, Fargo; grandson, Matt (Shani) Miller, Fargo; sister, Monica (Jeff) Berg, Wahpeton, ND; along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Peter, his sister Jane West and his parents.

In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family kindly requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to a St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or Scouting America Northern Lights Council Camp Wilderness.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Roger will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 3, 2026, followed by his at 11:00 AM in Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moorhead. He will be laid rest in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
