Robert ‘Bob’ E. Logan, 79, West Fargo, ND, died Thursday, October 30th, 2025, at Bethany on 42nd, under care of HIA Hospice.
Bob, the son of Chet and Phyllis "Elaine"(Mortimer) Logan, was born April 19, 1946, in Langdon, ND. He was raised on a farm near Calvin, ND, and graduated in 1964 from Border Central High School in Calvin.
During the Vietnam war, Bob was drafted into the Army 1965-1967. Upon discharge from the Army, Bob returned to Calvin, married his High School Sweetheart Linda, started their family and raised three children, Todd “Festus”, Robin, and Darren Logan.
Bob started out farming but found he enjoyed being employed driving semi cross country. He was joined briefly by his son, Todd, and later with his wife Linda, as he encouraged her to get a CDL as well. After retiring from driving truck, they made their home in Fargo. Bob and Linda enjoyed serving together as church greeters for over 20 years and making lifelong friends in the area.
In loving memory of a true wit, whose quick comebacks brought laughter even in the toughest times. “Doing the best with what I got”, was the usual response when asked how he was doing. As he lay surrounded by loved ones, not feeling well, he cheekily replied to the nurse’s question about how he felt today with a playful gesture, saying, "With my hands," reminding us all that his humor lives on, even at the end.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; and parents, Chet and Phyllis ‘Elaine’; one brother, Billy and one sister, Phyllis who died in infancy .
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Todd ‘Festus’ (Jodi), Robin (Shawn), and Darren (Pam); grandchildren, Tanner (Ceanna), Desiree (Blayze), Alyssa, Owen, Brooklyn; two great-grandsons, Gavin and Nolan; two step-grandchildren, Kimberly (Zachary), Tiffany (Roman); three step-great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Brielle and Joshua; two brothers, Don (Vicky) Logan, Art (Brenda) Logan; two sisters-in-law, Della Hertzell, Pat (John) Sherry; and brother-in-law, Donald McDonald; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
