Richard "Rick" L. Stevenson

Richard “Rick” L. Stevenson, 66, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, in his home surrounded by family under the care of HIA Hospice.

Richard Leroy Stevenson was born April 11, 1960, the son of George and Karen (Davis) Stevenson in Portland, OR. He was raised in Portland where he attended school before going to work at King’s Table Restaurant for many years. His journey would then lead him to Belcourt, ND, in 1989, where he worked construction and met his future wife, Krisann.

They were married in 1989, living in Belcourt and Minneapolis, MN, before settling in Glyndon, MN, in 1991. Rick then pursued a career as a mechanic for Truckers Inn in Moorhead. In 2004, he relocated to Minot, ND, where he would work for Stata Earthmover’s and as a security guard at the Holiday Inn. Rick would return to Fargo in 2012, dedicating his later years to custodial work at Concordia College, Moorhead, and then for Liberty Middle School, West Fargo, ND.

Rich had a passion for fishing and was a big fan of dirt track car racing. Above all, he cherished time with his family and found joy in moments spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Richard L. Stevenson Jr., Portland, OR, Cody Stevenson, Jodi Matney, and Warren (Alitta) Stevenson, all of Fargo; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert Stevenson, Fargo; sister, Cynthia Stevenson, Belcourt, ND; special friend, Melissa Andrist, Fargo; former spouse, Krisann Stevenson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dustin Stevenson; and granddaughter, Leighanna Morkin.

A Visitation for Richard will be on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN. He will be laid to rest in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
