Rev. George A. Krueger

May 12, 1937 — January 7, 2026

Minot, ND, formerly of Moorhead, MN

Rev. George A. Krueger, a deeply respected and faithful servant of God, peacefully passed into the arms of his Lord on January 7, 2026, at the age of 88. He was a man of unwavering faith, guiding countless men and women toward faith in Christ with great wisdom, unwavering compassion, and unmatched integrity for over five decades.

Blessed with wonderful parents, George was born on May 12, 1937, in Larimore, ND, and grew up on the family’s homestead farm outside Niagara, ND. Upon graduation from high school in 1955, George felt a profound calling to serve his Savior and entered Concordia College in St. Paul, MN, to pursue a lifetime of service as a pastor in the Lord’s church. While at Concordia, George met a very special woman named, Annette, whom he married on November 24, 1960. The marriage was blessed with four children. George earned a Master of Divinity Degree in 1967 from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, IL, and was ordained into the Holy Ministry in June of the same year.

All of George’s professional ministry took place in the state of Minnesota, where he served the dual parish of Christ Lutheran Church in Rochester and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Eyota, Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville, and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. His extensive parish ministry experience then led him to close off his professional ministry in the healing role of an Intentional Interim Pastor at both St. John Lutheran Church in North Branch and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Walker. George and Annette then moved to Fargo, ND where in retirement they spent time travelling, fishing and enjoying one another’s company. While in Fargo, George served as a deeply loved visitation pastor for the members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead, a position he held for nearly 20 years.

In addition to distinguished service in the parish, George served the church at large as a member of the Board of Regents for Concordia University in St. Paul, MN, and with great distinction as a Vice President for both the Minnesota North and Minnesota South Districts of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

In addition to great love and commitment to his wife Annette, children and extended family, George’s life was centered in love for his Lord Jesus with each day unfolding in new opportunities to reflect the life of Jesus Christ to those he encountered. His heart-felt care for others found him speaking of God’s hope, healing and encouragement to those he met right up to the last weeks of his life. While some leave a legacy written in books, George left a legacy written in hearts.

George is survived by his treasured wife of 65 years, Annette; son, Paul (Susann), Minot, ND; daughter, Elizabeth Marshall, Wausau, WI; son, Benjamin (Marlis), Calgary, AB; son, Joel (Laura), Branson, MO; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Eva Olin, Fargo, ND, Janis Bakke, Grand Forks, ND and Elna Anderson, Pisgah, IA.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Louise Krueger; and by a son-in-law, Larry Marshall.

A public viewing will be held on January 15, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN, with a Prayer Service to follow. The funeral service will take place on January 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM, also at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. A spring burial is planned at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Niagara, ND.

George and Annette request that memorials be directed to the Leonard and Clara Brauer Theological Scholarship (Annette’s parents) at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, to continue George’s legacy of service.

While we mourn his physical absence, we rejoice in the hope of the resurrection and the certainty of eternal life found through faith in Jesus Christ. The promise from Christ that guided George’s whole life has now come true in the most personal way, “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” – Revelation 2:10
