Peyton R. Dickelman

Jul 23, 2003 — Jul 6, 2026

Moorhead, MN

Peyton Rae Dickelman, 22, of Moorhead, MN, left us unexpectedly on July 6, 2026, in Burbank, CA, after a hard battle with addiction, a challenge that became part of her journey but never defined the person she was. She was born on July 23, 2003, in Fargo, ND, to John and Patricia Dickelman. Growing up in Moorhead, Peyton attended Moorhead High School, graduating with distinction in 2021. Her remarkable ability to play the piano and drums by ear showed her innate musical talent, often bringing joy through her music. Art was a passion she carried throughout her life, frequently drawing while immersed in her favorite songs.

Peyton was not only bright academically but also had a heart full of love, especially for children, and cherished the bond she shared with her younger cousins, Meeya, Ava, Bailey, and Cameron. It was simply in Peyton’s nature to help others in need, always offering her kindness, compassion, and support without hesitation, often putting the needs of others before her own. While planning for her future, Peyton worked at local daycares, the ND Center for Children with Autism, Microtel, as a babysitter, and as a server at Applebee’s and Village Inn. Peyton had a natural gift for cosmetology and dreamed of making a career of it. She loved doing hair, both her own and for friends and family who willingly became her clients. Despite having no formal training, her creativity, eye for detail, and talent shone through in every style she created. She always appreciated the tips and advice her cousin Koyla shared along the way.

Peyton’s love for her family was evident. She enjoyed spending time together for holiday and birthday celebrations, baking, watching and playing basketball alongside her brothers, Parker and Charlie, and carrying on family traditions, including a good pancake feast and a potato dumpling meal every year for her birthday. Anyone who knew Peyton knew she was one of the biggest fans of the television show Friends. She passed that love along to her little brother, Charlie, and the two of them loved spending time together watching their favorite episodes, laughing over shared quotes, and reminiscing about the moments that made them smile. She shared a special joy with her cousins, Hannah and Molly, simply riding around in the car singing their favorite songs at the top of their lungs. She loved hanging out with friends whenever possible and was always up for a good outdoor adventure, enjoying fishing, hunting, trap shooting, ATV and snowmobile riding, and many family lakeside moments. She loved her cats, Baby, Regina, and Cleo, dearly and treated them like they were her children, often referring to them as her fur babies. They brought her endless joy, comfort, and companionship.

Peyton will be remembered and missed by her mother, Patti (Chad) Lofton; her father, John Dickelman; two brothers, Parker (Haley) Dickelman and Charlie Lofton; stepsister, Josie Wierson; grandparents, Dallas Durkin, Fred (Peg) Dickelman, Sharon (Bill) Lipp, Cindy Lofton and Ken Omundson; aunts and uncles, Lori Bartz, Dwight Bartz, Donna (Dennis) Krier, Chuck (Rena) Durkin, Connie (Mike) Hageman, Jill (Jeff) Jaeger, and Charlene (Steve) Houle; godparents, Julie and Phillip Grubb, and Nicole and Hermie Weiss; great-aunts and great-uncles; cousins, Hannah, Casey (Caitlin), Bailey, Cameron, Meeya, Ava, Lucas, Molly, Marcus, Mari, Max, Jake, and Sam; and her beloved fur babies, Baby, Regina, and Cleo.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Kellie Jenkins; grandmother, Marlys Durkin; several great-grandparents; cousin, Hunter Houle; her very special friend, Farouk Fatouh; and her fur babies, Powder, Tank, and Annabel.

Friends and family are invited to honor Peyton’s life at a gathering on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5 PM to 7 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 7 PM, at Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service in Moorhead.
