Paul Dean Nosal was born on February 15, 1963, at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, to Thomas Lowell and Glendora May (Kubitz) Nosal. He spent his early years in Barnesville, where he attended school and proudly graduated from high school in 1981. That summer marked the beginning of his dedicated service to his country as he entered the United States Air Force, beginning basic training in San Antonio.
Throughout his military career, Paul was stationed in various locations around the world, including the Philippines and Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, where he served for eight years and met Sheri Kieffer. Paul and Sheri were married on April 4, 1987, and remained in Alamogordo for a time before eventually being stationed at RAF Bentwaters in England and later at Aviano Air Base, Italy. After 13 and a half years of honorable service, Paul returned stateside, carrying with him a deep sense of pride for his years in the Air Force.
Following his military career, Paul and Sheri lived in Barnesville and Hastings, Minnesota, before eventually moving to Texas, where they made their home from 1998 until 2022. Over the years, Paul worked in a variety of security positions, building a reputation for his dedication and strong work ethic. His experience eventually led him to a position with Airbus Helicopters, a job he truly enjoyed. His love for family later brought him back to Barnesville, where he was grateful to spend time with his mother before her passing in 2023. In more recent years, Paul was a valued member of the team at Case IH in Fargo.
Paul’s heart was most at peace outdoors, where he cherished hunting and spending quiet moments fishing by Olaf Lake. He also enjoyed attending car shows, playing video games, and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. Above all, Paul was immensely proud of his service and the life he lived with honor and dedication.
Paul Dean Nosal’s journey touched many lives and leaves behind memories of a beloved son, brother, husband, father, cousin, serviceman, and friend who lived with humility, commitment, and a gentle love for the simple joys of life.
He is survived by his wife, Sheri Nosal of Barnesville, MN; two children: Tanya (Jonathan) Miller stationed in Alabama, and Travis Nosal of Barnesville; one granddaughter, Emma Miller; two siblings: Scott (Shelly) Nosal of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Susan (Mark) Carillo of Rothsay, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Glenny.
