Audubon

Patsy Ann Henrikson, age 86, died at home, January 18, 2026 surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice. She was born November 10, 1939, daughter of the late Oscar and Cynthia Wynn Isaac. Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Henrikson; 4 children, Keith Henrikson of Audubon, MN, Cindy (Mike) Jorud of Barnesville, MN, Beth (Jeff) Svare of Audubon, MN, Tim (Marcy) Henrikson of Audubon, MN, 6 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 6 great-grands. Patsy’s siblings, 3 brothers, Roland Isaac, Carl Isaac, Roger Isaac and 4 sisters, Fran Wilson, Ellen Sizemore, Joyce Sparks and Bernice Parsons all of Kentucky, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, June McNew and Bonnie Yelton.

Born and raised in Kentucky, she was the oldest of ten children. Her Kentucky roots were close to her heart, and though she made her home in Minnesota, she delighted in sharing stories of her family upbringing and showing that legacy to her grandkids on special trips to Kentucky.

She was a devoted wife, supporting her husband, working side by side running a dairy farm. Patsy was a natural care giver, working as a CNA at Sunny Side Nursing Home prior to earning her LPN in 1986. She enjoyed a 23 year nursing career, taking care of her patients and forming life-long friendships at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Family was a cornerstone of her life. A mother of four, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, her family was her greatest earthly joy, and she poured herself into each generation with wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love.

Patsy was a woman whose life reflected a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. Her faith was not only spoken but lived—through service, kindness, perseverance, and a joyful trust in God that carried her through every season of life. She was a founding member of Community Alliance Church, serving as a deaconess, prayer warrior and actively participated in many Bible Study groups through the years.

Creativity flowed through her hands, especially in her passion for sewing and quilting. Her church quilting group held a special place in her heart; those friendships were a source of strength, laughter, and comfort, particularly during her long and courageous battle with cancer. Through it all, she demonstrated remarkable faith and grace, trusting God’s presence even in the hardest moments.

She found peace and delight in God’s creation—tending her garden, admiring her flowers, feeding the birds, and soaking in the beauty of nature. These simple joys reflected her grateful spirit and her constant awareness of God’s handiwork.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, resilience, and quiet devotion. While she will be deeply missed, those who loved her rejoice in knowing she is now fully healed and at home with her Savior, hearing the words of the Lord she held dear: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6
