Octavia O. Bertsch

Our dear Mama, Octavia Olivia (Tesky) Bertsch left this earth for her home in heaven on September 29, 2026.

Octavia was born on July 26, 1931, to Jacob J. and Christina (Delzer) Tesky. She grew up in Venturia, ND, where she met and married Norman Bertsch, on December 28, 1949. (Even though we celebrated their anniversary on December 27th, for 69years) Very funny inside joke!

Mom and Dad were blessed with three children: Roberta (Glenn) Knudson, Nolen (Teri) Bertsch, and Desiree (Steve) Morton, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. They were married for almost 70 years when Norman was called to heaven. Mom will be so excited to see Dad again, and they will worship their Lord and Savior together for eternity. Praise the Lord!

Mom was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Norman (our near perfect Dad); her parents; eleven brothers and sisters, and their spouses; and one great-granddaughter, Ellie Howell.

Mom is survived by her three children, Roberta (Glenn) Knudson, Nolen (Teri) Bertsch, and Desiree (Steve) Morton; grandchildren, Ciara (Jim) Stockeland, Chelsee (Brett) Howell, Livia (Charles) Huhn, Jordan (Courtney) Bertsch, Taefe (Mark) Dollerschell, Addie (Blake) Fidler, Tayler (Joe Arenson) Bertsch, Annie (Ryan) Brown, and Josiah (Looking for the right one) Morton; great-grandchildren, Harrison (Chloe) Stockeland, Isabella (Neal) Humphrey, Paisley Howell, Aashika Eve Howell, Layla Huhn, Ethan Huhn, Micah Huhn, Elizabeth Huhn, Judah Huhn, Josie Bertsch, Evelyne Dollerschell, Elyse Dollerschell, Elsie Dollerschell, Steven Fidler, Silas Fidler, Tatum Brown, Emelia Brown, Baby Brown; and great-great-grandson, Douglas Stockeland.

Mom and Dad will be sorely missed in this life, but thankfully we have the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and promised hope of heaven. We have complete assurance that we will see them both again one day. Thank you, Jesus! See you later, Mom.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 1715 52nd Ave. S., Fargo. Reception to follow at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1130 11th St. S. Fargo. Please join us to celebrate the life of our sweet and spicy Mom.
