Moorhead

Nancy Jeanette Priebe was born on November 8, 1936, to Fritz and Viola (Beil) Priebe in Valley City, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Peak, ND and attended the Noltimier High School in Barnes County. During her high school years, she loved to play basketball, which was almost unheard of for a girl in those years. After graduating high school in 1954, Nancy worked as a bookkeeper in a dry cleaner where she would meet her future husband Reinhold “Reinie” Deutscher. On March 27, 1959, they were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City. Nancy and Reinie started out their married life and family in Valley City, ND, celebrating the birth of their daughter Linda in 1960 before relocating to Moorhead, MN in 1964. Nancy would sadly loose her beloved husband, Reinie, in 1991 to cancer.

Nancy started her passion for gardening on the family homestead planting flowers and caring for the family vegetable garden. Creativity was also a large influence in Nancy’s life, who would become an arts and crafts entrepreneur with needle point, crochet, pinecone wreaths, and tole painting among other artistic ventures. This love for nature and creativity would carry on through her entire life and eventually was passed down to her daughter and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Olson, Moorhead, MN; four grandchildren: Amanda Olson, Bemidji, MN, Jessica Binger, Moorhead, Derek Olson, Washington, IL, Hannah (Rodney) Binger, St. Cloud, MN; five great grandchildren: Jeremy Jr., Jasper, Jabrius, Lillian, and Daisy; one sister, Ruth Kerbaugh, Cooperstown, ND; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding Nancy in death were her parents, Fritz and Viola; her husband Reinhold; five siblings: Gladys Ratzlaff, Earl Priebe, Annabelle Reichert, MaryJane Anderson, and Jeannie Priebe; two nephews: Terry and Jerry Kerbaugh; two nieces, Diane Priebe and Debbie Reichert; and great nephew, Lee Anderson.

Nancy Deutscher, passed away at her daughter’s home in Moorhead, MN on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 88 years.
