Nancy Diane Hest, 53, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, in Sun Rise Hospital, Las Vegas, NV, while waiting for a liver transplant.
Nancy was born July 16, 1951, to Ethel (Houglum) Hest and Ralph Hest. She was a member of Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was an organist for the church during her teenage years. She also was active in the Riverside 4-H Club.
Nancy attended school in Perley and graduated from Hendrum (MN) High School. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University, Moorhead, MN, in 1973. She taught five years in Twin Valley, MN, and then moved to Las Vegas. She received her master's degree in Education at UNLV. Nancy spent twenty-five years teaching at the Lois Craig Elementary School, Las Vegas.
Nancy is survived by her parents, Moorhead; five brothers, Richard (Barb) Hest, Eagle Bend, MN, James (Terry) Hest, Grygla, MN, Russell (Joyce) Hest, Moorhead, Bruce (Cheryl) Hest, Minot, ND, and Bryan (Theresa) Hest, Perley; one sister, Rebecca (David) Smart, Ada, MN; special friend, Lynn Sunderland, Las Vegas; fourteen nieces and nephews; four grand-nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, on Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 11:00 AM.
