Monica Rae Miller, 71, of Fargo, ND, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with her beloved husband by her side. She courageously battled cancer for over 11 years.

Monica was born May 22, 1951 to Donal and Inez (Lundgren) Leonard in Ortonville, MN. Monica lived in Ortonville, and later her family moved to Rapid City, SD, before moving to Minot, ND. Monica attended high school at Bishop Ryan in Minot. This is where she met the love of her life, Keith Miller.

Monica was a stay-at-home mom when their two children were young. She enjoyed coaching and watching her children’s ball games. Monica was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Larry Scouton for 25 years before retiring and moving to Fargo, ND.

Monica enjoyed being with family, especially her four amazing grand peeps and her two grandpups. She was a woman of deep faith and strong will. She was generous and always loved a good conversation. She enjoyed all things sports, playing board games, reading the newspaper from front to back, and watching the Game Show Network. She enjoyed watching her grand peeps at ball games and dance recitals/competitions. She was their biggest cheerleader. She loved her family to the fullest. Monica will be dearly missed.

Monica is survived by her husband of 50 years, Keith Miller, Fargo; son, Jason (Michelle) Miller, Fargo; daughter, Nicole (Michael) Sundhagen, Minot; grand peeps, Hannah and Hailey Miller, Fargo, and Ashton and Brooklyn Sundhagen, Minot; brothers, Randal Leonard, Columbus, OH, and Tom (Pam) Leonard, Minot; and extended family and friends.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents, Donal and Inez Leonard; and brother, Ronal Leonard.

A memorial service for Monica will be Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 2 PM, at Faith United Methodist Church, Minot.
