Mildred A. Hoag

Mildred Angot Brandvik was born March 26, 1907, to Christ and Clara (Hawkins) Brandvik, in Harwood, ND, where she grew up and attended school. Mildred graduated from Fargo Central High School, Fargo, ND.
Mildred was united in marriage to Veeder Hoag, April 10, 1929, in Moorhead, MN, and they lived and farmed in the Harwood area until 1958. They later farmed near Argusville, ND, and then on the Brandvik farm by Harwood. The couple moved to Mayville, ND, in 1972, and to Fargo in 1980.
Veeder preceded Mildred in death on June 23, 1989. Mildred continued to make her home in Fargo and entered Villa Maria, Fargo, in March of 2002. With her family by her side, Mildred went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at ninety-seven years of age.
Mildred is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Virginia Vleck and her husband, Walter, Buxton, ND, and Marilyn Gunnarson and her husband, Marvin, Havre, MT; daughter-in-law, Alice Hoag, Moorhead; fourteen grandchildren: Milton Hoag Jr., Virginia (Hoag) Demmer, Pam (Hoag) Guest, Tom Hoag, Tim Hoag, Roxanna (Hoag) Lauinger, Gloria (Vleck) Schneider, John Vleck, Wayne Vleck, Phyllis (Vleck) Dapper, Daryl Gunnarson, Dean Gunnarson, Dennis Gunnarson, and Susan (Gunnarson) Hanger; thirty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hoag, Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Lev Hoag, Duluth, MN; and many cousins.
In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Milton; a daughter, Phyllis; a grandson, Dicky; a great-grandson, Tyler; a brother, Clarence; a sister, Lillian Stanley; and a twin sister, Myrtle Bennett.
Visitation for Mildred will be Friday, June 18, 2004, from 7 - 9 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. The funeral will be Saturday, June 19, 2004, at 1:30 PM, in Temple Baptist Church, Fargo. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Harwood.
