Mark A. Liljequist, 66, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Sanford Health in Fargo, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mark Alan Liljequist was born July 23, 1959, in Moorhead, MN, to Harold and Elizabeth (Bava) Liljequist. His family lived in Dilworth, MN, before moving to Barnesville, MN, where he graduated from high school.
Following graduation, Mark worked for a short time at the American Crystal Sugar Plant, as well as the City of Moorhead before he eventually began working as a drywall installer, a trade he continued until his retirement.
Mark met Lori Holland when they were young, and they were together for 18 years. They made their home in Moorhead, where they raised their two daughters, Aleasha and Krysta.
Mark was a very proud member of the Sons of AMVETS. He enjoyed camping, Folgers coffee with a tish too much Coffee Mate Original Creamer, grocery shopping for the freshest donut holes and perfect loaf of soft, light-topped bread, spending time outdoors, and walking his puppy, Jack. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.
Mark is survived by his daughters, Aleasha (Lucas Bohrer) Holland and Krysta (Brian Fennell) Holland; his six grandchildren: Ellery, Veira, and Romy Bohrer and Andrew, Eleanor, and Franklin Fennell; his beloved dog, Jack; siblings, Terry Liljequist, Kathy Liljequist, and Jerry Liljequist; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Liljequist and Elizabeth Wallace, his stepfather, Gordon “Red” Wallace, and his brother, Steven Liljequist.
He will also be reunited with many friends he has lost over the years, some of which include his best friend, Craig Wheelright, Jeffrey Holland, and Rodney Holland.
A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held Sunday, May 3 at Fargo AMVETS (1001 1st Ave S) from 11am-2pm.
Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
