Marie C. Rerick, 72, Moorhead, MN, died Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, in her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Marie Clare Adkins was born February 3, 1932, to Clarence and Helen (Murray) Adkins, in Grand Forks, ND, where she was raised. She graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. Marie worked as a telephone operator for St. Michael's Hospital for a time and then worked in the payroll department for Butler Construction, both in Grand Forks.
Marie was united in marriage to Raymond Rerick, August 18, 1951, in Grand Forks where they made their home until moving to Sioux Falls, SD, in 1973. They moved to Moorhead in 1975 where they have since lived. When her children were young, Marie was involved as treasurer of Cub Scout Pack 632 in Moorhead.
Marie is survived by her husband, Ray, Moorhead; five sons, Scott (Lynn), Ashley, ND, Greg (Dianne), Sioux Falls, Pat (Lisa), Mapleton, ND, and Matt (Misty) and Steve (Susie), both Moorhead; five daughters, Jan (Ron) Anderson, Cathy (Len) Dose and Julie (Mike) Kautz, all Sioux Falls, Jo Rerick, Alexandria, MN, and Terry (Keith) Free, Laurel Hill, FL; twenty-eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rita Beyer, Fargo, ND. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.
