Fargo, ND

Loretta E. Sauvageau, 74, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Sanford West Campus, Fargo.

Loretta Elizabeth (Dullea) Sauvageau was born to Edward John and Anna (Campbell) Dullea on November 8, 1951 in Fargo, ND. She passed away at the age of 74 at Sanford Health Westy Campus in Fargo on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after a long illness. Loretta was a lifelong resident of Fargo, graduating from Shanley High School in 1970. Following high school, she furthered her education at Minnesota State University at Moorhead earning her AA degree.

On October 19, 1980, Loretta married Ivan Sauvageau and the couple was blessed with two fine sons, Zachary and Gabriel. Over the years, Loretta worked at various businesses and occupations within this community, such as The West Fargo Police Department and the Fargo Public Schools system.

Loretta was interested in a variety of different things such as cooking and planting her yard with plants such as big red Amaryllis. Her favorite flowers were red roses and every year on her birthday all of her close friends would make sure she received plenty of them. By far Loretta’s most cherished and beloved activity was chatting away and catching up with friends and family; she was the consummate “people person”.

Loretta was a firm believer in God and His mercy toward all of His children. She prayed often for all of the people she loved and herself, hoping for Divine help to live her life as God wanted her to live it.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Ivan; her son, Gabriel and his wife, Amanda and her much welcomed and anticipated little granddaughter, Berkley, their daughter; and daughter-in-law, Jessica. Also surviving her are her three sisters, Julie, Patsy and Eileen, as well as one brother, Michael; her many special nieces and nephews, you know who you are; and her BFF, Ardys Burley, for the many decades of friendship.

She was preceded in death by her son, Zachary; her parents; three brothers; two sisters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

At Loretta’s request no services will take place.

We invite you to take a few moments to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with Loretta’s family in the Guestbook below her obituary.
