Linda J. Villiard, 69, Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND

Linda Jo Villiard, a devoted nurse, cherished daughter, sister, cousin and friend was born September 25, 1956, the daughter of Joseph and Hazel (Hanson) Villiard in Moorhead, MN. She was raised in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. It was during these years Linda discovered her heartfelt calling for caring for others, a passion that would shape her life and career. Linda’s journey in nursing began as a Candy Striper at St. Angar’s Hospital in Moorhead, followed by her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bethany in Fargo. Committed to advancing her skills, she pursued her nursing degree from Detroit Lakes (MN) Technical College.

Linda’s professional path began at St. Luke’s/MeritCare Hospital where she worked as NICU nurse for many years. She then would go on to work as a charge nurse at on Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo. Embracing new opportunities later in her career, Linda worked as a traveling nurse on the East Coast, including assignments in Martha’s Vinyard and the The Berkshires. In time, as her health began to decline, Linda retired and continued to live in Moorhead before moving to Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.

In her leisure time, Linda found joy in knitting and crafting hundreds of slippers over the years. She also enjoyed playing piano and treasured time at the lake with her family. One of her greatest pleasures was traveling, especially with her mother, sharing wonderful trips to places such as Las Vegas and Hawaii.

Linda’s life was marked with kindness, compassion, and a warmth she shared with those around her. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

She is survived by her brother, Duane Villiard, Moorhead; special political friend, Miles Wagner; and longtime friend, Char Eckert; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Linda will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Her Life at 11:00 AM, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. She will be laid to rest in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
