Linda Ann Rosene

Moorhead

Linda Ann Rosene, a beloved soul, was born on April 7, 1950. Rooted in the fertile soil of family and love, she grew up on a family farm nestled in rural Wahpeton, North Dakota, where the laughter of childhood echoed and the warmth of simple joys flourished. After completing her education at country school, she graduated from high school in Wahpeton in 1968, carrying with her dreams and aspirations that blossomed into a lifelong journey of caring for others.

Her path led her to nursing college in Valley City, ND, where fate intertwined her life with that of Bryce Rosene. United in love on September 5, 1970, they ventured forth into the world hand-in-hand, living in a tapestry of communities—including Grand Forks, Jamestown, and Moorhead—before planting roots for 23 years in West Fargo. Her family was her guiding light, as she embraced the joys and challenges of raising three wonderful children, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and creativity. Eventually, the couple settled in Moorhead, where they enjoyed 25 years of shared memories, laughter, and love.

As a dedicated nurse, Linda devoted her life to caring for others, beginning her professional journey at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo. For nearly three decades, she poured her heart into her role at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead, where her compassion touched the lives of countless individuals and families. Even challenged by kidney disease, which struck her in her early 40s, she remained dedicated to nursing until her retirement. A successful kidney transplant, donated by her sister, Kay, on October 30, 1996, gave her 29 more years of life. When she wasn’t working, Linda valued her quiet, creative time when she stitched, quilted, crocheted, or whatever other craft she wanted to take up. Over the years, she made many special treasures for her family by hand. Her unconditional love went into every stitch. She also enjoyed spending evenings playing Bingo with friends. These times were filled with laughter and camaraderie and enriched her life.

Above all, Linda cherished, supported, and guided her family. She was proud of each of her children and grandchildren on their unique journeys. Time with Linda as wife, mom, sister, aunt, grandma, or friend was filled with ease, happiness, laughter, comfort, and joy – and perhaps a card game or two, a relaxing pastime she passed down to her children and grandchildren.

On the gentle autumn morning of October 29, 2025, Linda gracefully departed this earthly realm surrounded by the love of her family. Her essence lingers in the hearts of all who knew her—a testament to a life beautifully lived, a heart generous in kindness and love, and a spirit that will forever resonate in the memories she crafted with care.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bryce Rosene; three children: Keri (Todd) Mangis, Minneapolis, MN, Tim Rosene, Moorhead, MN, and Terry (Kimberly) Rosene, Farmington, MN; four grandchildren: Cameron Mangis, Kelsey Mangis, Logan Rosene, and Brennen Rosene; one sister, Kay (Dean) Lee, Garrison, ND; one brother, Leroy (Norma) Smith, Wahpeton, ND; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Grace Smith; one sister, Diane Moreau; one brother, David Smith; brother-in-law, Dean Kallberg; brother-in-law, Bill Moreau; and niece, Juliet Kallberg.
