Linda L. Cory

Linda Lu Cory, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Valley Care and Rehab in Barnesville, Minnesota.

Linda was born on June 27, 1947, in Grafton, North Dakota, to Homer and Helen (Moffett) Gillies. She grew up in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. On June 24, 1967, she married the love of her life, David Cory. Together they built a life full of laughter, love, and family, raising four children.

Linda was known for her generous heart and spirited personality. She once ran a daycare from her home, offering care and love to many children over the years. She adored shopping on QVC, kept an impeccably tidy house, and had the gift of gab, she could talk your ears off, and you’d be glad she did. Her love was most often expressed through food, and she never hesitated to offer whatever she had to someone in need. Linda would truly give you the shirt off her back.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her children: Garald (Arlene), Dean (Kim), Diane (Ron), and Craig (Allie); her grandchildren: Levi (Kelsie) Fischer, Carly (Noah) Kirk, Kayla, Alexis, Leah, Angelina, Grayson, Hudson, Reagan, and Lennon Cory; and her great-grandchildren: Braxton, Peyton, Easton Fischer, and Isaac K. She also leaves behind her brother, Garald; a sister, Bonnie (Nelson) Gillies; and her two beloved Chihuahuas, Homer and Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David.

Funeral service for Linda will be Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11 AM in Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior. Burial will be held at Memorial Park North Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
