Leo Peter Osowski

Leo P. Osowski, 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, December 9, 2018, in Serenity Assisted Living, Dilworth, MN.
Leo Peter Osowski was born on June 28, 1931, to Frank and Helen Osowski in Minto, ND. He was raised on the family farm near Grafton, ND, and graduated from Minto High School. After graduation, Leo enlisted in the U.S. Army and served faithfully until April of 1951, when he was honorably discharged.
While living in Grafton, Leo met the love of his life, Mary Ann Rynerson. They were married on September 15, 1953, and made their home In Moorhead. He worked at Fairway Foods for 38 ½ years before retiring in 1992. Leo and Mary Ann traveled around the world. They enjoyed dancing, playing cards and spending time with their large family and many friends.
Leo was an avid outdoorsman, nature lover, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Whether it be lakes, birds, trees, or other beautiful sights of nature, Leo loved it.
Leo was a father to seven children and was known for his patience, caring and the love he shared with his children. He was a tender, kind, wonderful man who will be dearly missed.
Leo is survived by his children, Cathy (Leonard) Orona, Kempner, TX, Dan (Vicky), Moorhead, Patti (Greg) Richards, Moorhead, Jim (Kellie), Detroit Lakes, MN, Tom, Winter Park, FL, Bonnie (Mike) Miesen, Big Lake, MN, and Mike (Michael Plante), Los Angeles, CA; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Olson, Grafton, Florence French, Grafton, Lillian Verstrate, West Linn, OR, Hiladore (Pauline), Grafton, and twin sister, Mary Ann (Dwain) Schrank, Yakima, WA; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Merlyn) Albertson, Dilworth, Fern (Bob) Ringstad, Moorhead, and Jeanette Osowski, Grafton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Leo was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Ann; parents, Frank and Helen; and siblings, Ambrose, Hilary, and Martha.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, 409 8th St. S., Moorhead. Visitation will continue from 10-11 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, Friday, December 14, 2018, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 601 15th Ave. N., Moorhead. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
