Larry O. Anderson

Larry O. Anderson, 87, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at HIA - Heather's House in Fargo, ND. Larry was born on March 23, 1939, in Pleasant Lake, ND, to Leonard and Olga (Petersen) Anderson.

Larry served honorably as a Private First Class in the United States Army, enlisting in 1958 and returning home in 1960. In 1963, he began a career in trucking, working as an owner/operator with companies including Mayflower, International Transport, and Schneider Trucking, before becoming an independent grain hauler. He was united in marriage to Caroline Dietz on October 5, 1970, sharing 25 years of marriage. Larry retired from trucking following his second heart attack at the age of 69.

A man who cherished the outdoors, Larry enjoyed spending summer days in the sun. His children fondly remember him repairing three-wheelers and snowmobiles, and the brief adventure of motorcycles in their quonset. He was also an avid collector of John Deere memorabilia, ranging from tractors to coins.

Larry faced a challenging battle with stage 4 metastatic colon cancer, diagnosed in September 2025. He will be remembered for his dedication, hard work, and love for his family and the simple pleasures of life.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Mike) Pinkney of Dilworth, MN; one son, Larry Lynn Anderson (Steve Pendell) of Amelia, OH; one granddaughter, Natalie Molacek; one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rouse; and one brother, Alan (Bonnie) Anderson of Fargo, ND.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; his step-father, Albin Anderson; one brother, Fredrick Anderson; and one sister, Nellie Vangsness.

A graveside service with military honors for Larry will be held at 11am Friday, May 15, 2026, in the Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND. Officiating will be Reverend Elizabeth Hiller
