Kathleen Mae Lingen

Kathleen Lingen, 101, of Dilworth, MN, went home to be with the Lord, under the care of hospice, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, MN.

Kathleen was born on October 27, 1924, on the family farm north of Stanley, WI, to Peder and Caroline Lingen. She attended Otter Creek Country School and Stanley-Boyd High School graduating in 1942. After graduation, she worked at the high school office and then at the J&J Long & Sons store.

As Kathleen always felt a calling for church work, she left Stanley to attend the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN, graduating in 1949. She was then called to serve at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI, where she spent 10 years. She was then called to serve at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Moorhead, where she worked as Secretary, Administrative Assistant and Education Director for 35 years, until her retirement in 1995. Even though she retired she still worked a number of years part-time at Luther Hall Residential Center for Adolescents in Fargo, ND.

Although Kathleen never married, she stayed involved with her nieces and nephews and their families through occasional visits, phone calls, letters and photos. She made many lifelong friends, she often said how blessed she was and how much she cherished them in her life.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold Sr. and Harvey; and her sister, Beatrice Scheidler.

A graveside service will be held for Kathleen at a later date, in Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley, WI.
