Juneal Mavis Wollertson was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Crookston, MN, to Ingman and Alva (Holte) Wollertson of Shelly, MN. Like her older sister Ionne and younger sister Sharon, Juneal attended elementary school in Shelly and high school at Climax.
Her fondest childhood memories included spending time with her grandparents, Emma and Stanley Holte, on their farm, building forts with cousin Peter Holte, listening to Uncle Millard Wollertson play the piano and clarinet, bringing home injured animals, and riding horses with Wollertson cousins.

Juneal worked at a dry cleaner and at Hornbacher’s in Moorhead for many years. In later life she enrolled at Moorhead State University, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English. She won a writing award in college for her story titled “The Cobbler,” about her grandfather, Berger Wollertson.
Juneal married Jim Doeden in Shelly, in 1957, and they raised two sons, Larry and Joseph. They later divorced.
Juneal is survived by sons, Larry (Marilyn) Doeden of Fargo, ND and Joseph (Patti) Doeden of Verndale, MN; grandchildren, Lance (Mikayla) Doeden of Rapid City, SD, Lee Doeden of Hugo, MN, Logan (Taryn) Doeden of Fargo, Joshua Doeden of Hickson, ND, and Breanne (Brandon) Kostrzewski of Hickson; and nine great-grandchildren. Juneal was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sharon Doeden; former husband, Jim Doeden; and brother-in-law, Lawrence Doeden Jr.
