Judith “Judy” C. Molldrem, aged 81, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully in her home on July 13, 2025, surrounded by the loving embrace of her family and the compassionate care of Sanford Hospice.
Born Judith Claire Larson on May 8, 1944, in Fargo, ND. She was raised in Moorhead. Judy completed her education at Moorhead High School before furthering her studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
She was the cherished daughter of Ernest and Lillian (Kundert) Larson. Judy was the kind of daughter any parent would dream of having. She adored her parents and had a bond with her mother that was unique and unbreakable. Judy had three siblings: Sharon, Larry and Doug. Her love for each of them was immeasurable. Judy had a feisty spirit about her. Because of this, she often found herself protecting her siblings and offering all kinds of advice. The bond she had with her sister, Sharon, was extraordinary. The love, laughter and life journey they walked together was an eternal blessing in both of their lives.
On August 19, 1962, Judy married Bradley Molldrem, in Moorhead. They shared 62 years together. They nurtured and raised a beautiful family of six children. She continued her work of putting family before all else while raising her children. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her children. She worked endlessly and tirelessly to provide each one of them with a home full of love where everything was clean and all their needs were met. She would say, “Cleanliness is next to godliness,” and if this is true, she walked hand in hand with God every day.
Judy’s first job was always what needed to be done at home, but she worked outside of the home as well, starting at Gate City. Later, she dedicated herself to the care of others as a secretary and then as a switchboard operator at St. Luke’s and later MeritCare in Fargo.
In the early 2000s, Judy reinvented herself and embraced a new chapter in her career by obtaining her real estate license, working at Realty 2000 and then Kvamme Realty. She also found joy among her friends in bridge club and enjoyed participating in water aerobics at the YMCA. Judy loved and adored her friends. She would want each of you to know that she loved and cherished her time with each and every one of you. Her friends were a true rock in her life.
The most accurate definition of a person cannot be described by worldly accomplishments or places of employment. The whole of a person is defined by their love, generosity, strength, faith and compassion for others. Judy was a light that radiated and illuminated all these traits.
At her core, family was Judy's everything. She exemplified a selfless devotion to her loved ones and took immense pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming home. A woman of strong faith, her spirit continues to inspire all those who were privileged to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Brad; her six children, Jeffrey (Carmen Visus-Molldrem) Molldrem, Houston, TX, Todd (Rachael) Molldrem, Edina, MN, Jennifer (Daniel) McInnis, Galveston, TX, Chad (Toni) Molldrem, Savannah, GA, Michael (Susan) Molldrem, Moorhead, and Matthew Molldrem, Minnetonka, MN; grandchildren, Marco and Elisa Molldrem, Max, Kate and Tommy Molldrem, Dalton (Caitlin), Taylor and Jaden McInnis, Hannah, Ian, and Abigail Molldrem, Oscar and Lillian Molldrem, Forrest and Brekken Holloway, and Scout and Zoe Molldrem; great-grandchildren, Oliver and William Molldrem and Lily McInnis; siblings, Sharon Roller, Larry and Douglas Larson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan Schriner, Mike (Ginger) Molldrem, and Gary (Rita) Molldrem; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judy's life was a testament to love, devotion, and service, qualities that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Her legacy will endure through the many lives she touched and the profound impact of her unwavering dedication to those she cherished.
