Jody R. Harmon

Jody R. Harmon, 63, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in her home.

Jody Renee Hawn was born February 25, 1962, the daughter of John V. and Twila M. (Kjos) Hawn, in Elgin, ND. She was raised on the family farm near Mott, ND, and attended school in Mott.

In 1979, she was united in marriage to Virgil Harmon and they initially established their home in Regent, ND. The couple would later move to Amenia, ND, where they would welcome their two children, Wendy and Travis. Jody would eventually relocate to Casselton, ND, before settling in Moorhead, MN, in December of 1995. Over the years Jody worked as a waitress for Country Kitchen, The Iron Skillet and the Village Inn for the last twenty years. In 1995, Jody met Daryl Emery, the love of her life, and they established their home in Moorhead. On August 29, 2016, they were married and Daryl passed away March 15, 2024.

Jody found joy in cooking and entertaining, particularly cherishing moments spent planning and hosting her summer Hawaiian Luaus and her winter Christmas parties. She also enjoyed thrifting. One talent that was passed down by her grandmother and mother, was the gift of writing. Jody enjoyed writing poems, some for “Rymes for Tymes” and had some of them published in a few poetry books.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Harmon, Jacksonville, FL, and Travis (Christina) Harmon, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Ellamae, Adelina, Lilyana, and Grayson; mother, Twila Hawn, Mott, ND; sisters, Patsy (Curt) Ericks, Rapid City, SD, and Nancy (Jeff) Kubik, Dickinson, ND; three nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Daryl; and sister, Melody “Molly” Hawn.

Gathering of Family and Friends for Jody will be on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead.
