Jewel Ann (Hart) Nordick, 71, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, in Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. She was surrounded by her family who sang her favorite songs to her as she passed into eternity.

Jewel was born to Kenneth and Donna (Christensen) Hart on December 14, 1949, in Watertown, SD. The family resided in several cities in South Dakota before relocating to Moorhead, MN, in 1967. Jewel graduated from the Moorhead State University High School in 1968. She attended North Dakota State School of Science and completed her studies to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Jewel married David Nordick on August 23, 1969. Together they had three children, Keith, Kimberly and Kory. Jewel worked as a nurse at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead for several years. In the fall of 1975, the family moved to Barnesville, MN. She was employed at the Barnesville Care Center for 26 years. After David and Jewel retired in 2001, they spent their summers at their home on Star Lake near Dent, MN, and their winters in Mission, TX.

She will be remembered as one who was a friend to everyone. She was always the caregiver. She had an infectious laugh and could talk to just about anyone. She absolutely loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending her time supporting her grandchildren through all of their various activities including football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, musical concerts and performances. One of her favorite things to do was to cuddle with and sing to each of her grandchildren and always give them 'moochies."

She is survived by David, her husband of 51 years; son, Keith (Holly), Perham, MN; daughter, Kimberly (Dean) Bloch, Dilworth, MN; son, Kory (Jennifer), Fergus Falls, MN; Spanish son, David (Ana, Lucia, Rodrigo) Gonzalez, Madrid, Spain; brother, Lynn (Ruthie) Hart, Bismarck, ND; sister, Janeen (Joseph) Alves, Zimmerman, MN; grandchildren, Megan, MacKenzie, Keith Jr, Jackson, Braeden, Avery, Leo, Jewel, Brysen, Brock, Zoie, Peter, Brodie, Ingrid and Beatrice; and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Kaia. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Donna; her father- and mother-in law, Ernest and Dorothie; a brother, Samuel; David's sister, ZoAnne; and a granddaughter, Kenleigh Bloch. She leaves behind a large extended family and many dear friends.
