Jan (Lammers) (Carr) Stuverud

Jan Marie (Carr) Stuverud, age 77, of Moorhead, MN, passed away at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and her loving family by her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville, MN with Father Todd Arends presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Barnesville, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Mass of Friday.

Janice Marie Lammers was born on October 14, 1947, to Dallas Loren and Ann Julia (Nosal) Lammers in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in Barnesville, MN and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1966.

Jan’s life journey included a marriage to Andy Carr, and to this union two daughters, MayAnn and Stephanie were born. She was a devoted mother and had unwavering support for her daughters as they grew up.

Jan worked as the office manager at A. C. Carr Construction, Black & Associates, and finally at Hunter Grobe Architects. She retired in 2013.

On May 2, 1998, Jan was married to Thomas J. Stuverud at Cormorant Lutheran Church and they established their home in the Lake Park area. They further expanded their family when they adopted Alexis in 2000. Tom died in 2014. Jan relocated to a home in south Moorhead where she has resided since.

Jan loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, mind and strength. She spent time with Him daily and often shared what she was learning with those around her. She was always supporting her family through faithful prayer. She has heard “Well done, good and faithful servant,” as she entered the gates of heaven.

Jan is survived by her three daughters: MayAnn (Wayne) Severud of St. Micheal, MN, Stephanie Carr of Moorhead, MN, Alexis (Brandon) Lanoue, Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Becca Severud, Woodbury, MN, Kenzie (Jax Welle) Hoyer, Apple Valley, MN, Drew Severud, Charleston, SC; great grandchildren: Veridian and Kyla Welle, Apple Valley, MN; One sister: Susie (James) Heng, Barnesville, MN, two brothers: Jerry (Karen) Lammers, Fargo, ND, and Ron (Kari) Lammers, Moorhead, MN and sister in law: Sherry Lammers, Moorhead, MN, and brother in law Bob Foslien, Sheridan, WY, and many nieces and nephews.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband Tom Stuverud, parents Dallas and Ann Lammers, sister Karen Foslien, brother Larry Lammers.
