James Mackner

James Mackner, son of John and Kathrine (Neitzke) Mackner, was born August 6, 1932, in Detroit Lakes, MN, where he grew up and attended school.
James was united in marriage to Rita Heinen on June 16, 1952, in Detroit Lakes. They later moved to Moorhead and raised their family. Rita preceded James in death on Nov. 23, 1984. James later married Darlene Zummach on May 13, 1989, in Dent, MN. The couple also made their home in Moorhead.
James drove trucks all his life. He worked for Fairmont Creamery, Moorhead, for 19½ years. He then worked for SuperValu, Fargo, ND, until he retired in 1998.
James Hubert Mackner, died Tuesday, February 24, 2004, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
James is survived by his wife, Darlene, Moorhead; four sons, Daniel, Fargo, David (Debbie), Moorhead, Gary (special friend, Tammy), Park Rapids, MN, and Dr. Jeffrey (Connie), Pelican Rapids, MN; four stepchildren, Lynette (Dale) Hanten, Raymore, MO, Allen (Jennifer) Zummach, Dent, Susan Zummach (special friend, Randy), Dent, and Tami Zummach, Fargo; ten grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, and two great-stepgrandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, February 27, 2004; 4 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Saturday, February 28, 2004, at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
