Jacquelin "Jackie" McManus

Jacquelin "Jackie" McManus, of Dilworth, MN, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Essentia Health in Fargo, ND, at the age of eighty, with her family by her side.

Jacquelin Marie Hartl was born to Joseph and Mary (Rominski) Hartl, on October 20, 1935, in Alice, ND. She attended school in Alice and Enderlin, ND. Upon graduation, she moved to Fargo where she worked in the office for a transportation company.

Jackie was united in marriage to John W. McManus on Feb. 20, 1957, in Alice. They made their home in Dilworth, where they raised their five children. In 1991, they retired to their lake home on Big Cormorant Lake. John and Jackie moved back to Dilworth the fall of 2009.

Jackie was always into projects to keep her busy, reading, repairing and dressing dolls, making doll houses and decorating carousels, to name a few. She did the flowers for many of her children's weddings and loved to paint and decorate often as well. Her greatest passion, however, was her grandchildren. Playing Play-Doh, coloring, making cupcakes, playing croquet and making sure they had an overabundance of sugar with a must have root beer float fix! Christmas Eve was her "must be there" holiday where she decorated every floor top to bottom. She created the most Norman Rockwell memories on Big Cormorant Lake for her family. In her later years, she grew to love the Minnesota Twins, with a soft spot for Joe Mauer.

Jackie is leaving behind her daughters, Minette (Kim) Carpenter, and Mary (Matt) Laddusaw, both of Hawley, MN; her sons, Mark McManus, Minneapolis, MN, and Mike (Beth) McManus, Dilworth; her daughter-in-law, Mary McManus, Fargo; and eight grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Macey, Samantha, Tanner, Nick, Jessica, and Brittany. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and her son, Murray McManus.

A visitation for Jackie will be Monday from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 11 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.

Burial will be in the Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN.
