Gloria Ann Schuster Beyers

Gloria Ann Schuster Beyers, 78, of Firth, NE, formerly of Beatrice, NE passed away on December 15, 2025, at Lakeview Assisted Living in Firth after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 25, 1947, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to LaVern and Verna (Parde) Schuster. Gloria was baptized on April 27, 1947, and confirmed on May 20, 1962, at Breckenridge Lutheran Church in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Her confirmation verse was John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her with quiet strength, grace, and hope. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1965. On January 14, 1967, she married Gregory M. Herzog, and together they were blessed with two sons, Grant and Jason. They later divorced in 1980. Gloria became a certified diamontologist in 1984 and served as assistant manager at Helzberg Diamonds. She later worked at the P.E.O. Home in Beatrice. On October 14, 2015, she married Gerald W. Beyers, with whom she shared years of love and companionship until his passing in 2021. Gloria found joy in the simple blessings of everyday life. She loved gardening, raising flowers, tending her plants, and preserving her harvest through canning and freezing. Creative by nature, she enjoyed crafts, baking, and painting. Gloria was beautiful inside and out—remembered by all who knew her as extraordinarily kind, endlessly optimistic, and remarkably resilient. She faced life’s challenges with grace and unwavering faith, inspiring her family and friends to meet hardship with strength and hope.

She is survived by her sons, Grant (Kelly) Herzog and Jason (Paige) Herzog; grandchildren, Gretta Herzog and Nolan Herzog; sister, Joyce Schuster Larson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Beyers; parents, LaVern and Verna Schuster; brothers, James Schuster and Calvin (Constance) Schuster; and former husband, Gregory Herzog.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice, Nebraska. Interment will be at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The P.E.O.
