Gladys Ruth Peterson, 91, formerly of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, October 2, 2003, in ManorCare Health Services, Fargo, ND.
Gladys Tranberg was born December 6, 1911, near Hallock, MN, where she graduated from high school. After graduation, Gladys worked at the Hallock Memorial Hospital before moving to Minneapolis, MN, to work at and attend the Bible Institute at Minnehaha Academy.
On June 5, 1935, Gladys married Victor Petereson in Hallock where they made their home and farmed. To this union, one son, Arne, was born. They farmed near Hallock until they moved to farm near Breckenridge, MN. In 1955, they bought a farm near Wolverton, MN, where they lived for almost thirty years.
Gladys and Victor retired in 1984, and moved to Moorhead. Victor died February 1, 1991.Gladys became a resident of ManorCare in January of 2003.
Gladys is survived by her son, Arne (Della), Wolverton; five granddaughters, Becky (Leigh) Johnson, Grand Rapids, MN, Vicki (Randy) Heley, Lidgerwood, ND, Sharon (Dan) Rogers, Mound, MN, Karen (Tony) Spandl, Moorhead, and Patti (Tim) Naugle, Elk River, MN; fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
