Genevieve Burnett

November 19, 1912 — April 15, 2004

Genevieve Burnett, 91, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Genevieve Elizabeth Nordstrom was born November 19, 1912, to Gustave and Augusta (Erickson) Nordstrom, in Moorhead, where she grew up and attended school. After graduating from high school, she attended Moorhead State College for one year. Genevieve was working as a teller for Dakota National Bank, Fargo, when she met her future husband, John Burnett. On August 9, 1942, they married in Moorhead, where they made their home. In 1969, they moved to Rochester, MN, where John worked as the business manager for the Minnesota Bible College. After his retirement, they moved back to Moorhead.

Genevieve dabbled in many other job experiences, such as real estate and sales, always trying to make a little extra money to help the family. She loved spending time at their lake home on Lake Sally and you would often find her riding her moped around the lake. She also enjoyed watching the Vikings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a lot of spirit and energy and was known for jumping on beds.

She is survived by her husband, John, Moorhead; two daughters, Judy Lord, Moorhead, and Joyce (Gerald) Albert, Kimball, MN; a son, John (Gina), Littleton, CO; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren with number eleven due in April.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
