Floyd A. Emerson, 81, of Dilworth, MN, passed away, Monday, April 26, 2021, in his home.
Floyd Allen Emerson was born on January 19, 1940, to Charles and Delores (Kelly) Emerson, in Fargo, ND. He went to country school at Clearview Elementary south of Moorhead, MN, and graduated high school from Moorhead Campus School in 1959. February 27, 1960, Floyd married Carol Jacobsen, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Floyd was a loving and devoted husband to Carol for 61 years. Together Floyd and Carol raised three wonderful daughters.
Floyd worked at Emersons Standard with his father and brothers, before moving on to Richtman's Printing & Office Supply, where he worked for 11 years. In February of 1969, he became a co-owner of FM Printing, until 1997 when he sold the business. He continued to work at FM Printing for the next 23 years, until he reached the age of 80.
Floyd loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He played many games of pinochle with his friends and family, as well as poker and many other types of card games. Floyd also enjoyed spending time at the lakes, but always loved being surrounded by his friends and family.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Pam (John) Jensen, Nancy (Richard) Faus, and Marsha (Larry) Jensen; brother, Lloyd; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Delores; brothers, Chuck, Jr. and John; and son-in-law, Kevin Boll.
A Visitation for Floyd will be Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5 PM - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11 AM in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
