Elsie Krabbenhoft

June 29, 1914 — January 22, 2005

Elsie Frieda Schellack, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Wendtland) Schellack, was born in rural Glyndon, MN, on June 29, 1914. Elsie grew up and received her education in the Glyndon area, where she graduated from high school. She attended Moorhead State Teacher's College in Moorhead, MN and taught school at country schools near Downer, MN, Barnesville MN, and in Spring Prairie Township in Clay County, MN.
On December 3, 1938, Elsie was united in marriage to Rudolph H. Krabbenhoft, in Sabin, MN. They made their home in Moorhead. Elsie worked for many years in the cafeteria at Concordia College in Moorhead. She retired in the late 1960s.
Her husband, Rudolph, died on October 28, 1986. Elsie continued to live in Moorhead until April of 2001, when she became a resident of a nursing home in Ulen, MN. In October of 2001, Elsie became a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.
Elsie F. Krabbenhoft died Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Eventide Lutheran Home, at the age of 90. In addition to her husband, Elsie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lindsay Ostrem Roach; two sisters, Ella Jones and Alma Schellack; and two brothers, Otto and Eddie Schellack.
Elsie is survived by two sons, Cordell (Janet) Krabbenhoft, Anaheim, CA, and Russell (Gwen) Krabbenhoft, Waubun, MN; two daughters, Kathie (Leland) Burud, Barnesville, MN, and Lois (Tedd) Ostrem, Roseville, MN; a sister, Clara Snippen, Fargo, ND; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation: Tuesday, 4 PM to 7 PM,
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Prayer Service: Tuesday at 6 PM,
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Funeral service: Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at 2 PM, in Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide Lutheran Home,
Moorhead, Minnesota.

Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Sabin, MN.
