Duane L. Peterson

Duane L. Peterson, 76, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, March 22, 2021, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Duane Lyle Peterson was born December 31, 1944, in Fargo to Carl and Mabel (Loberg) Peterson. He was raised and educated in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School. Duane was united in marriage to Linda Lee. They adopted their daughter Kathyrn in 1988. Duane and Linda later divorced.
Duane worked for First Presbyterian Church in Fargo for over 30 years. He enjoyed ice fishing with his older brother Marvin, deer hunting, watching NASCAR and gardening. He had an outgoing personality and loved being around people. Duane was a hardworking, caring individual, who always was willing to lend a hand if possible. In his younger years, Duane enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, and had fond memories of his trip to Sturgis with his brother-in-law. He also found great joy in working on cars. Two quotes that Duane often phrased, "Don't use the word hate, hate is a strong word" and "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all".
Duane will be remembered and missed by his daughter, Kathryn Peterson; sister, Carol Jostad; longtime companion, Ellen Huston and her children, Stephanie Huston and Steven Huston; and five grandchildren, Ava, Horatio, Gabirella, Dontae and Millie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
A graveside service for Duane will be held Monday, March 29, 2021, at 10:30am, in St. John's Cemetery, Horace, ND.
