It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dondi (Knutson) Sandland, who was granted her angel wings on April 1, 2026, at the age of 55.
Dondi was born on March 11, 1971, in Fargo, North Dakota. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1989 and later earned her Bachelor of Business Administration. She dedicated over two decades of her professional life to Wells Fargo, where she built lasting relationships and a respected career.
Dondi made her home in Bozeman, Montana, with her fiancé, Brad Dollinger, at the home of her aunt and uncle’s, Bob and Shauna Thompson. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and creative pursuits, including crocheting, collecting antiques, and thrifting—always on the lookout for a unique and meaningful find.
She will be remembered for her fiery temper, infectious smile, her unmistakable laugh, and a witty sense of humor that was entirely her own. Dondi had a way of bringing light and warmth into every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In her final weeks, Dondi stayed with her brother Eugene in Arizona, seeking further medical guidance as she bravely battled an aggressive cancer. Her courage and strength throughout her fight were nothing short of remarkable.
Dondi is survived by her grandma, Helen Chandler; her children: Krista Paulus, Thomas Paulus, Tyler Sandland, and Anna Schwartz; and fiancé, Brad Dollinger. Dondi is also survived by her brothers Eugene, Tyrone, and Aaron Knutson, whom she shared her childhood home, and other half-siblings & extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sandland, her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Dondi’s passing is a profound loss to all who knew her. Her strength, resilience, and the love she shared remind us of the preciousness of life. She will be deeply missed and remembered forever.
Dondi's Family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date and the day and time will be announced on Dondi’s Facebook page.
