Dennis W. Sampson

Dennis W. Sampson, 76, Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Sanford West Campus, Fargo, ND, surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis Wayne Sampson was born June 29, 1949, the son of Joseph and Selena (Pederson) Sampson in Fergus Falls, MN. He was raised in Fergus Falls and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1967. Following graduation, Dennis gained valuable experience working for local farmers and Harles Tree Trimming.

He later relocated to Moorhead and began working for Lake Elmo Lumber. On May 30, 1980, he was united in marriage to Jane Marshall in Moorhead. Together, they established their home in Moorhead where they raised their three children, Jessica, Adam and Rebecca. In 1990, Dennis began working for the City of Moorhead, initially working in park services before transitioning to roles in sanitation and recycling until his retirement in 2000. Before and after his retirement, Dennis remained active driving milk truck and working for area farmers.

One of his greatest passions was his 1939 John Deere Model B tractor, which he lovingly restored and maintained. He was a member of the Two Cylinder Club and enjoyed participating in the Western Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag with his beloved tractor. Dennis also found joy working on lawn mowers and enjoyed tinkering on various projects in the garage.

He is survived by his children, Jessica Sampson and Adam Sampson, both Moorhead, and Rebecca (David) Dotting, Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Emma and Michael Dotting; sister, Sylvia Christenson, Fergus Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Heggen.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Dennis will begin at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 14, 2026, followed by a Celebration of His Life at 1:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead, MN.
