Dee (Darlene) Wahl

November 26, 1946 — March 2, 2025

Fargo, ND, formerly of Bismarck, ND

Dee (Darlene) Wahl, 78, of Fargo formerly of Bismarck, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025. She was born November 26, 1946 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Theodore and Lillian (Gabel) Christianson.

Dee graduated from Bismarck High School in 1964. She worked in customer service for many years touching the lives of those around her through her dedication and kindness. She spent many years with First Bank, retiring from Bismarck Transit in 2019, after 15 years of service.

Dee met the love of her life when she was around twenty years old, they dated a bit and went their separate ways. Then, when she was in her thirties, James Wahl called her up on the phone one day and they were married in 1980.

Dee had a special connection with so many people, bringing joy and warmth into their lives with her bubbly, positive personality, and willingness to listen and keep a secret. She was known for her infectious laugh and love for life. She was also known for her lead foot. Back in the day she wanted to be a racecar driver, but to no avail. However, anyone that knew her back then knew that the way she drove her old Pontiac was impressive and all with no power steering. She cherished time spent with family and friends and enjoyed visiting with every person she met. She loved cards, especially canasta, and once she got you to play you realized you didn't have a chance of winning.

Whether through her laughter, guidance, or the simple joys she found in everyday moments. She was a peacemaker, and she made the world a better place for those who knew her. The joy of the Lord was her strength, and she is now safe with Jesus.

Dee is survived by her daughters, Tascha (Trace) Caldwell of Fargo and Jami (Justin) Wangler of Bismarck; her beloved grandchildren, Cal, Reece, Maggie, and Aiden; extended family and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Lillian Christianson; her husband, James Wahl; her sisters, Elaine Becker and Lorraine Burtts; and her nephew, Tim Becker.

A celebration of her life has not been set. No flowers are needed, but you can plant a bush or rose plant in her memory and be kind to the elderly.

A special thank you to the staff at Sanford Health West Campus, Fargo (6th floor and the ER) for their care and heartfelt kindness.

Dee’s legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
