Dawn Elaine Bjornstad

Dawn E. Bjornstad, 74, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Dawn Elaine Bjornstad was born on April 21, 1950, to Donald and Doris (Anderson) in Montevideo, MN. Dawn was raised in Moorhead where she went to high school. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1968. After high school she started working at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo doing intake. She continued to work for the hospital when they became MeritCare and Sanford. She worked in a few different positions during her years but was working in the medical records department when she retired after over 50 years working at the hospital in 2021.

Dawn was a very caring person. She loved to be with family and her friends. She took a lot of joy in being an aunt to her niece and nephews, and playing with her great nieces and nephews brought her great joy.  She loved bargain shopping, which led to many gifts for her nieces and nephews. She loved people and staying busy, which caused her to worry about what she would do during her retirement.  She filled her time with church activities at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, visiting people and having companionship with her mom.

Dawn is survived by her mother, Doris Bjornstad, Moorhead; brothers, Dann (Colleen) Bjornstad, Moorhead, and Robert (Deb) Bjornstad, St. Cloud, MN; niece, Ashley (Nate) Forgarty; and nephews, Tom, Nick (Heather), and Derek (Holly). She was preceded in death by her father, Donald; and many aunts and uncles.

Dawn was loved and will be missed. Our hearts are saddened but knowing her relationship with the Lord comforts us.

A private family service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead.
